Engine Builder: Bob Bolam, APBA 225 Technical Chairman.
This was the first 229 Chevy V-6 built in America used in boat racing. Almost everything had to be fabricated due to non existence of aftermarket application hardware. Due to the rules, a single 650 CFM carb was used. All internal components were modified per the rules. Many 350 Chevrolet components were incorporated. We had second high rise intake manifold manufactured by GM for racing. Many hours were spent with the GM technical staff and a famous drag racer in California who assisted in the develop this engine.
